It is with heavy hearts that we announce Wesley James Siegersma, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Harmony House in Pierz, MN with his daughters by his side.
Wes was born on January 17, 1944 in Artesia, CA to Charlie and Jane (DeVries) Siegersma. At the age of four, the family returned to Minnesota where he was raised on the family farm south of Milaca. Wes attended Pease Community Christian School and Milaca High School. He served in the National Guard before beginning his trucking career, in his early twenties, with Don Patnode Trucking. Over the years, Wes hauled for Wayne Transports and Coca-Cola before becoming an owner/operator of Wes Siegersma Trucking. He then hauled for Beverage Transports before returning to Wayne Transports to complete his successful lifelong career in long-haul trucking.
Wes loved riding snowmobiles and motorcycles. In his younger years, he raced Arctic Cat snowmobiles on the Wayne Rowland Implement team and during that time participated in the I-500 race from Winnipeg, Canada to St. Paul, MN. Wes lived for the roar of his Harley and logged many miles on the open road. He looked forward to his annual bike trips to Mackinac Island with friends and supported the breast cancer awareness ride several times. Wes spent many hours in his shop restoring his beloved John Deere tractor and a Kenworth Semi, and he took pride in making his Harley and Semi Truck(s) sparkle before he hit the road again.
Wes will be deeply missed. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sharp sense of humor, boundless generosity and a heart that loved deeply.
Wes is survived by his daughters, Stacy (Steve) Holbrook of Royalton and Tracy (Steve) Carlson of Princeton; grandsons Jake and Cole Carlson; sisters, Kathy (Leon) Kooiman, Carol (Charlie) Brown, nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
Wes is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Jane; brother Larry; and sister-in-law Joan.
Visitation will be held at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca, MN on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm with a short service at 5:00pm. Family and friends are invited to join us for food, refreshments and fellowship at the Milaca Legion immediately following the service as we continue to celebrate Wes. Burial will be a private family event at the Pease Cemetery on Monday, August 11, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for all those that cared for Wes at Harmony House and also to Horizon Health Hospice. Your love, kindness, care and respect will always be remembered.
