Robert Charles DeBoer, age 95, of Milaca, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025 at Milaca Elim Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11 AM at Milaca Alliance Church. Interment will follow at Wendell Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Robert was born to Frank and Gertrude DeBoer on November 6, 1929. He was united in marriage to Joanne Reed on October 29, 1950 in Milaca. Rob served in the US Army for two years during the Korean War, stationed in Germany.
Rob and Jo moved around a lot, from Minnesota to Idaho, to California, back to Idaho, and back to Minnesota. In 1959, Rob went to work for Red Owl Foods and served as truck driver. He retired from there after 25 years of service.
Rob and Jo found the Lord in 1965 and after that Rob spent the rest of his life serving others, and especially the church. He had a great impact on many people over the years.
Rob and Jo liked going on fishing trips with their friends and also spent several winters camping in Arizona. Jo was the love of Robs life, they loved doing things together. In 1969 they moved back to Milaca and settled there for the rest of their lives
He is survived by his five children, Mike (Terry) DeBoer, Rob (Lois) DeBoer, Laurie (Mike) Maurer, Kerry (Cindy) DeBoer, Dawn (Greg) Moyer; 19 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
