Phyllis Jones

Phyllis Marie Jones, age 87, of Milaca, passed away July 7, 2025, at the Milaca Elim Nursing Home. A funeral service for Phyllis will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, July 14, 2025, at Peterson Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Burial following at Stanford Cemetery in Isanti, MN. 

Phyllis Marie Jones was born at home on October 16, 1937, to Vince and Ferne Lundberg in West Point, MN and spent much of her childhood on a turkey farm near St. Francis. She was from a family of eight and was the oldest of five brothers and two sisters. She married Harvey Colline and was blessed with 2 children, Leslie and Kevin. She was further blessed with granddaughters, Jessie, Jamie, Carrie, Ashley and great-grandson, Dylan. They were the light of her life. Sadly, Phyllis lost her son to cancer, but she was always grateful for and fondly remembered the road trip she and Kevin took from MN to Washington state. In the early 80’s, Phyllis worked hard and earned her GED. She felt such a sense of pride in this accomplishment. 

In 1990, she married Delane Jones and the two of them built countless memories taking many adventurous trips in their motorhome around the country. Phyllis loved her home, especially her kitchen. She was a great cook and made the best fried eggs and coffee around. She took pride in making her house a home and filled it with beloved treasures. She also spent many hours in her yard caring for her flowers and her birds. She was a true fan of old-time music. She even learned to play the drums and sing in a polka band and was known for her beautiful singing voice. Phyllis had many life-long dear friends with whom she celebrated birthdays, friendship, and important events. She treasured her family and any time she could be together with them. Her family treasured her too and she will be dearly missed. 

She is survived by her beloved husband, Delane; daughter, Leslie; granddaughters, Jessie, Jamie, Carrie, Ashley; great-grandson, Dylan, siblings; Steve, Lynn (Katie), Dicky (Kathee), Roger, Debbie (Shirley), Donnie (Deb); sister-in-law, Dianne; 7 stepchildren; many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends. 

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kevin; brother, Doug; and sister-in-law, Melanie.
