Murel Lezer

Merel Lezer, age 84, of Foley, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Foley. Visitation will take place from 9:30 - 11 AM at the church on Saturday.

Murel was born in rural Gilmanton Township, MN at home on the family farm on April 27, 1941. He was the fourth child of six born to Gustave and Esther (Stofflet) Lezer. He graduated from Foley High School in 1959. After high school he worked at Fingerhut and Dezurik until going to World Aerospace Corporation as a machinist for 27 years. Murel also owned and operated Murel’s Body Shop, after retiring he worked part time for Auto Value as well as farming. On April 20, 1963 he married the love of his life Patricia Studenski in a ceremony at United Church of Christ, Minden Township. Together, they had 4 children. All his life his heart was in farming and he and his family worked on the farm they rented raising crops, cattle, and pigs. Murel and Pat purchased a farm in Gilmanton Township in 1998. One of his best memories was of the trip they took to Hawaii for their son-in-law’s daughter’s wedding. The kids never knew when he would call one of them with a joke he just came up with, maybe two or three times in a row. People who knew Murel said you just never knew what he was up to.

Murel was preceded in death by his parents Gustave and Esther (Stofflet) Lezer, siblings Lawrence (Elvina) Lezer, Vionne Gibbish, brothers-in-law Leonard Mendal, and George Stewart, in-laws Arthur and Ethel (Reid) Studenski.

Murel is survived by his wife of 62 years Pat, children Holly (Daniel) Fiecke, Harold (Melissa Kloss) Lezer, Kristine Lezer and Gretchen (Keith) Walcheski, grandchildren Kody (Mat) Micholski, Brady Wolf, Kayla Limborg, Kendra Shaw, Douglas Lezer, Johsua (Mindy Bednar) Walcheski, Derik Walcheski, great-grandchildren Kendall, Natalie, Shelby, Weston, Wyatt, siblings Marlys Stewart, Geraldine Mendel, Daryel Lezer, in-laws Judy (Naomi) Studenski, Russell (Sandy) Studenski, James (Shirley) Studenski, Steve (Peggy) Studenski, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family expresses a special thanks to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital for the outstanding and compassionate care during Murel’s stay during his passing.
