Michael Rivers

Michael David Mide Rivers (Aandig and Kiwaden), age 24, of Milaca, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026. Funeral ceremony will begin at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca. Feast will immediately follow at 8633 125th Street, Milaca. Visitation will be held Monday from 7 – 10 PM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca. Potluck feast Monday from 7-8 PM at the Gorecki Center. Please bring food to the Gorecki Center at 6:30 PM. From 8:30-10 PM, there will be a viewing and prayers at the funeral home.

Michael was born May 28, 2002 in Princeton, MN. He grew up and in Milaca and graduated from Milaca High School. Michael enjoyed swimming, side x side rides and camping.

He is survived by his parents, Scott (Shannon) Rivers and Kimberly Benjamin; adult foster parents, Curt and Tammy Newgard; brother, Tom (Abbey) Benjamin; sister, Torrey (Travis) Parrish; brother, John (Emily) Rivers; sisters, Lacee Benjamin, Lilee Benjamin and Lexee Benjamin; grandparents, David Rivers, Rick Benjamin, Ruby Gurneau and Ross Dickie; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Barb Rivers, Marcy Benjamin and Joan Dickie.
