Martha Frerich

Martha Frerich, age 87, of Foreston passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church in Foreston. Visitation will take place from 8:30 - 10 AM at the church in the parish hall.  Interment will follow the luncheon at 2:00 PM at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Little Falls. 

Martha was born on November 22, 1938 in Clara City, Minnesota to John and Anna Zeller. She attended school through 12th grade and moved to Foreston after being united in marriage to Robert Frerich on July 23, 1966. Martha was a stay at home mom and raised three children, all while helping with the things that needed to be done on a farm.

Martha was an accomplished seamstress, cook and baker. She was also an avid reader, loved playing cards with family and friends and listening to polka music.

She was a devoted parishioner to the St. Louis parish community. Some of the many things she was involved in were the Christian Mothers, catechism teacher while her children were young and helping with the church bazaar.

Martha is survived by her son Alan (Nancy) Frerich; daughter, Cathy Brooks; son-in-law Bob Potzmann; grandchildren, Jessica Potzmann, Nick Potzmann, Emily (Tony Tonarelli) Brooks and Matthew Brooks; brothers Gene Zeller and Jerry Zeller.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Frerich; daughter Beverly Potzmann; parents John and Anna Zeller and sister Dorothy Henkel.
