Marlys H. Fylstra

Marlys Helen Fylstra, age 87, of Milaca, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2018.  Memorial services will be held at 1:00 on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Stephen Blenkush officiating.   

Marlys was born in Minneapolis to Norbert and Ethel (Lindstrom) Peterson on June 15, 1931.  She grew up in Milaca south of Bock and graduated from Milaca High School. She was united in marriage to Lyle Fylstra on October 14, 1950 at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca.  Their 68th anniversary would be this October.  They lived in Roseville where Marlys worked for the American Dairy Association.  They moved back to Milaca for their retirement. 

Memorials preferred to Zion Lutheran Church, 245 Central Ave., Milaca, MN, 56353.  We appreciate and want to thank Elim Nursing Home Staff and Guardian Angels Hospice for all the loving care Marlys received.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Norbert Peterson;  sisters, Gladys Mathwig and Dorothy Backes.

She is survived by loving husband, Lyle;  sister, Ruth Robideau; children, Brad (Janet), Jan (Jeff) Hermes, Shari (John) Fox, Marc (Dee);  grandchildren, Jeff Jr., (Heather), Christa, Scott (Sharona), Tracy, Jessie (Tries), Randy, Dan, Cody, Charley, and four great-grandchildren.
