Mark Curtis Johnson, age 65, of Milaca, passed away at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota on July 19,2018 as a result of injuries from an ATV accident near his farm on July 7, 2018. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 27 at 11 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca with the Rev. Timothy Bauer officiating. The pallbearers will be his nephews and nieces. Interment will be at Chase Brook Cemetery, north of Foreston. Visitation will be Thursday, July 26 at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca from 5 to 8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Mark was born September 12, 1952 in Milaca to Leonard and Anna Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended Tibbets Brook Country School and graduated from Milaca High School in 1970. He attended St. Cloud Vocational School, graduating in 1971. He worked as a laborer on the Alaska Pipeline from 1975 to 1979. He returned to Milaca where he worked construction for four years and he purchased the family farm. He then expanded the farm to 275 acres and ran a beef farming operation until the time of his passing.
Mark loved deer hunting, fishing, farm life, and fellowship with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the church council. Mark was a kind and generous man. He enjoyed helping and working with neighbors in the country.
Mark is survived by three brothers, Larry (Debbie) of Bellevue, WA; David (Diane) of Milaca; and Steven (Melinda) of Milaca; and one sister, Lu Ann (Kevin) Grandell of Princeton. He was a fun and wonderful uncle and was much loved by his five nephews and six nieces. He is also survived by nine great-nephews and seven great-nieces. Mark was preceded in death by his parents; and one great-nephew.
