Mark Claffy

Mark William Claffy, age 74, passed away peacefully at MN Health Fairview Princeton on July 2, 2025, after a battle with cholangiocarcinoma. Memorial services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 2 pm with visitation 1 hour prior to service.

Mark was born on August 8, 1950, to Herbert and Joyce (Lunke) in Grand Forks, ND. They moved to Milaca in 1952 where he grew up attending Milaca schools graduating in 1968. He graduated from St. Cloud State University.

Mark married Laurie Elvestad on August 11, 1984. They had two children, Jordan Herbert and Kelley Joyce.

Mark worked various jobs throughout his life. He loved fishing, baseball, music, and playing cards with friends. He loved all sports but especially liked the New York Yankies and the Dallas Cowboys.

He was a kind man who loved his family and friends and was always willing to help someone out.

Mark is survived by his son; Jordan, daughter; Kelley (Ryan) Young, grandchildren; Bridget and Gibson Claffy, Brooklyn and Ryleigh Young, sisters; Becky Lundgren, Debbie (Phil) Vedders, Brenda (Dave) Schmitt, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Herbert and Joyce Claffy, paternal grandparents; William and Florabel Claffy, maternal grandparents; Hilmer and Carrie Lunke.
