Margaret Timmer

March 13, 1939 — August 19, 2025

Milaca

Margaret Ann Timmer, of Milaca, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in 1939 in Princeton, Minnesota, Margaret lived a life grounded in family, faith, and community.

In 1957, Margaret married the love of her life, Donald Timmer. Together, they began their journey in several small towns across Minnesota and Wisconsin before settling in Pease in 1963. There, Don and his brother Gary took over the family farm through the late 1980s. Margaret was the heart of her home, raising six children on the family farm, bringing them up in the Pease Christian Reformed Church (CRC) community. She was a devoted member of the Pease CRC for more than 60 years.

Her famous potato salad became a staple at every family gathering—always requested, never replicated. She cherished time spent with family and friends, especially around a good card table or board game.

One of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren at their activities, including swimming, football, volleyball, baseball, basketball and more. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom carries a piece of her enduring spirit.

Margaret’s life was defined by generosity, joy, and the deep connections she built with those around her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Margaret was survived by her children Dwayne (Peggy) Timmer, Sandra Rowland (Arnie Sura), Lori Hjort, Gwen (Butch) Kalor, Heidi (Todd) Peper, and Patti (Mike) Christy; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; brothers Bob, Dennis and Jerry (Karon) Dahlberg; brother-in-law Loren Timmer, sisters in-law Carol and Shirley Timmer; and many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, grandchildren Michelle Rowland and Ryan Hjort, and great grandchild Isaiah Biehn.
