Kathryn Ramona Carpenter, age 81, of Princeton, formerly of Foreston, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 13, 2025. Memorial service will be held Friday, November 21, 2025 at 12 Noon at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church near Longsiding, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at West Branch Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Kathy was born August 27, 1944 to Clayton and Mary (Stockton) Johnson in Concord, NC. She grew up in Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School in 1962. Kathy earned her LPN at St. Cloud Technical College and later earned her RN at Anoka Ramsey Community College.
She was united in marriage to Keith Carpenter on December 16, 1967. Kathy worked for over 25 years as a Registered Nurse at Milaca Hospital and Fairview Northland Regional Hospital in Princeton before retiring in 2006.
Keith and Kathy enjoyed traveling and traveled to 46 states including Alaska and Hawaii. They spent many winters in Donna, TX where they enjoyed the warm weather. Kathy’s most recent trips were to Sweden, Door County, WI and Duluth.
Kathy enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing cards. She was a member of two book clubs and a card club. She was named Princeton Woman of the Year in 2025. She was a member of the Milaca American Legion Auxiliary for over 40 years. Kathy was also an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her sister, Joy (Rod) Rousselow; nieces and nephews, Julie (Shane) Hansen, Shawn (Jamie Lynn) Rousselow and Jamie Rousselow; great-nieces and nephews, Autumn, Hunter, Paige, Austin and Blake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith in 2021 and sister, Cheryl Dugan.
