Joyce Marie Anderson

A memorial service for Joyce Marie Anderson, age 86, of Milaca, will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Milaca United Methodist Church with Rev. Joyce Slostad officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.  Private interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora at a later date.

Joyce Marie Anderson was born January 25, 1932 at home in Hillman Township, Mora, Minnesota to Peter and Anna (Lundgren) Wilkens.  She graduated from Mora High School.  She was united in marriage to Phillip L. Anderson on June 14, 1952 in Mora, Minnesota. Before retiring, she worked for Mille Lacs County Public Health. She was an avid gardener, she loved to read, and she was also very active in her church.  In her younger days, she was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent. She cherished her children, grandchildren, great grandchild, extended family and friends.  Joyce passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Country Meadows in Milaca.

Joyce is survived by her children, Phil Anderson (Joyce), Laurel (Jim) Fladmoe, and Mark (Kristen) Anderson; grandchildren, Kelly Bates, Lisa Bates, Phillip Anderson, Anna Anderson, and Markus Anderson; and great granddaughter, Kai Lee Kolars.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers, Walter and Daniel Wilkens.
