Eldon "Andy" Anderson

Eldon “Andy” Leroy Anderson, age 92, of Milaca, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2017. The visitation will be held at Milaca Free Church from 10-11 am on Monday, November 20, 2017.  The memorial service will follow the visitation at 11 AM at the Milaca Free Church. Pastor Dan Clausen will be officiating. The burial will be at Estes Brook Free Church. Andy was born in Estes Brook, MN to Frank and Esther (Pearson) Anderson on September 14, 1925. He attended school in Estes Brook through eighth grade. After graduation he worked on the family farm and began working as a mechanic. He joined the Merchant Marines at the age of 19 and served for two years. On June 12, 1948 he was united in marriage to Beverly Meleen at the Milaca Free Church. They were active in the community as members of the Milaca Free Church where Andy also taught Sunday school, bible study and sang in the choir. He made a career out of his passion and love of cars. Throughout his life he worked as a mechanic and as a car salesman. He could never pass up the opportunity to buy, fix and sell a car. He also enjoyed many other activities such as hunting, fishing and participating in bowling and horseshoe leagues. Most of all he loved his family and would spend hours playing board games and completing puzzles with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. The grandchildren were also always happy to indulge his sweet tooth with a trip to Dairy Queen! Andy is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Esther; wife, Beverly; son, David; and two sisters, LeVerne Gustafson and Alice Jenson. Andy is survived by his daughter Judy King of Buffalo; son Kevin (Holly) of Milaca; sisters Doris (Reuben) Northway of Foreston, Phyllis (Elmer) Warolin of Milaca; brothers Verlin “Speed” (Elanor) of Rockford, IL and Virgil “Butch” (Mary Jo) of Fountain Hills, AZ; seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Andy will be remembered most for his kind and gentle nature, his love of people and for his devotion to his family and to God. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Elim Care and Rehab Center and Fairview Hospice program for their loving care and support in his final days.
