Carol Kiel, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at the age of 75, after a year long illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11 AM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease. Interment will follow at Pease Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 – 11 AM Saturday at the church.
Carol Jean Kiel was born July 10, 1943 to John and Jennie (Mooi) Timmer in Milaca. She graduated from Milaca High School in 1961. Carol married Donald Kiel on July 13, 1962 at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease. For the last 50 years, Carol was part of a group that sang to the residents at Milaca Elim Home. She also helped with the Cross Road Prison Ministry. Carol loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She went out of her way to make sure she could attend all of her grandchildren’s events and activities. For the last 12 – 13 years, Carol and Don enjoyed spending a few winter months with the snowbirds in south Texas. Over the last ten years, Carol and her family made many memories up north at Portage Lake. These have been treasured memories.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald; children, Debbie (Roger) Peel of Pease, Denise (Willy) Haliburton of Anoka and Greg (Leslie) Kiel of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren, Marissa and Hailey Peel, Sydney and Gavin Haliburton and Annika and Austin Kiel; siblings, Del Timmer, Marlene Hatcher and Jere (Linda) Timmer; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
