A private service for Bruce Dean Warner, age 83, of Milaca will be held at a later date.

Bruce Dean Warner was born on October 6, 1942 in Olivia, MN to Merrill and Beulah (Dean) Warner. Bruce grew up in Redwood Falls, MN graduating from Redwood Falls High School in 1960. Following graduation, Bruce attended St. Cloud State University and then served in the United States Army where he was stationed in England. When he completed his service he attended Dunwoody Institute and graduated in 1966.

Bruce married Cheryl Ledeen on August 12, 1967. Bruce and Cheryl lived in Minneapolis, MN and Long Prairie, MN before becoming lifelong residents of Milaca. Bruce and Cheryl moved to Pease in 2019. Bruce and Cheryl have seven children and ten grandchildren. Bruce worked as a purchasing agent in the printing industry at Hart Press in Long Prairie, MN and Volkmuth Printers in St. Cloud, MN. Bruce was a faithful servant of God and lived his life this way. Bruce was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was active with the church council, teaching Sunday School and Bible classes, and spent many years coaching and playing for the church softball league.

Overall, Bruce loved his family and spending time with all of his children, grandchildren and extended family. Bruce loved spending time at his cabin with his family fishing, hunting, watching movies, and playing Skip-BO and Farkle. Bruce also was a fan of the Minnesota Gophers, Vikings and Twins.

His family has many fond memories of Bruce that include when the family would pick “Dad” up from work and go out to eat and shop at the mall, when Mr. Bruce would volunteer in Ms. Warner’s class and make pizza for the kids, coaching softball with Dad at Rec Park, going for drives in the summer and ending up at A & W for a frosty mug. Bruce spent more time sitting in bleachers, church pews, auditorium seats, and standing in the rain to never miss an event. The fishing trip to Canada with Bruce and all of his “boys”. There was Dad’s famous homemade pizza nights, giant subs, cinnamon rolls, curry, and broiler sandwiches. Haircuts in the kitchen (cutting Adam’s neck once!), the first time we went to the Mexican Village and Dad told us we had to do the Mexican Hat Dance before they would seat us at our table; and when mom was really into clipping coupons and Dad said “I can’t afford all the money she’s saving!” And all of the time we got to spend deer hunting!

But the best memory was Cheryl’s memory of walking down the aisle to marry Bruce, the love of her life for 58 years!

Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl and their seven children: Geri (Scott), Joel (Jennifer), Adam (Emma), Michael (Jenna), Christopher (Megan), Jennie, and Nicholas and his grandchildren: Taylor, Riley, Brooke, Oliver, Hayden, Kaelyn, Reese, Ryan, Charlotte, and Ezekiel; brother, Ken (Marcelle), sisters-in-law, Carol and Cindy (Dan) and brother-in-law, Chuck (Dodie) and many nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dean and sister-in-law Delores, sister, Marilyn and brother-in-law Leland, mother and father-in-law, Janis and Vernon Ledeen, brother-in-law, Chad Dubany, nephew, Charles Dubany, and grandson, James Bruce Warner.

2 Timothy 4: 7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
