Arthur Louis Schoening

Art Schoening, 82 of Milaca, MN, formerly of Loretto, MN, passed away at the VA Hospice Center in St. Cloud, MN with family by his side on August 20, 2018 after a strong, courageous battle with cancer.   

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milaca, MN.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 8 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a rosary service at 8 PM.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Arthur Louis Schoening was born to Art, Sr. and Sue (Ferrian) Schoening in Minneapolis on May 7, 1936. Art served in the US Army from 1957-1959. He was united in marriage to Gloria Motzko on April 22, 1961.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Sue;  sister, Donna Mae Roehl;  daughter-in-law, Sharyn and great-grandson, Kamm AJ.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gloria;  children, Deb (Dan) Smith, Chris Ritter (Alan Klingelhoets), William Schoening (Michelle Berry) , and Susan (Jeff) Ruchti; grandchildren, Ben (Jackie) Barland, Sam (Becca) Barland, Matt (Kayla) Barland, Jacob (Morgan) Ritter, Cory Ritter, Joseph Burns, Adam Burns, Melissa Burns and Skyllar Schoening;  great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Brenae, Wyatt, Layne, Ava, Evie, and Adilynn; sister, Doris and many other relatives and friends.
