Andy Joe Ziegler, age 44, passed away December 28, 2025 in Milaca.
Andy proudly served as a firefighter with the Milaca Fire Department for 15 years, dedicating his life to protecting others with courage, compassion, and unwavering commitment. Andy was known for always being willing to drop everything to help anyone who asked, or didn’t ask but needed help. His response to those calls to help always came with “Okay, where are you at? I will be there shortly; I am just getting my shoes on.” Andy earned the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of the community he served.
Beyond the fire service, Andy was a devoted husband and parent who enjoyed working on house projects with his wife, working on vehicles with his kids, all while watching racing on the three televisions and his phone at the same time. Andy was very unapologetically himself and didn’t care if he hurt your feelings, but in the same breath he’d always make sure to let you know he still cared.
Andy is survived by his wife, Jojean; children, Lexi, Bradley, Jarod, Ryan and Alita; two grandchildren, Elva (Sassy Mae) and Harvey (L.J.); mother, Annie; siblings, Tyler and Maggie and several other family members and friends we call family.
Andy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sharon and Joe Ziegler; our dear friend, Dean Denota (DMFD) and his father-in-law, Bernie Meyer.
A celebration of life will be held January 10, 2026 from 3 to 7 PM at Jim and Roxie Gerads’ Farm, 13429 Central Avenue South, Milaca, MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family, payable to Alexis Ziegler or Jojean Ziegler.
Andy’s service, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten.
