Alfred D. “Alfie” Whitehead, age 94, of Milaca, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025. In keeping with his wishes, no services will be held at this time.
Alfred was born April 11, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to Alfred and Sally (Levandowski) Whitehead. He graduated from Anoka High School and later from Dunwoody Tech. He married his soulmate, Sandy (Bulger-Haggard) after his honorable discharge form the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Honeywell for 40 years as a Tool and Die Maker and served 16 years as Plant Steward for Local 1145. Alfred and Sandy moved around looking for that perfect place and found it on 10 acres in Milaca. He loved spending time with family and friends, music, movies, TV mysteries and his computer. He was known for telling jokes, pulling pranks and making people laugh. He most enjoyed reading his Bible and the teachings of Our Lord.
He is survived his wife, Sandy; children, Barb Whitehead of Eagan, Bruce (Vanessa) of Milaca, Marsha (Arlyn) Anderson of Woodbury, Mike (Lisa) of Rogers and Tom (Kris) of Maple Grove; step-children, Candy (John) Dreshar of Andover, Mike (Joan) Haggard of Zimmerman and Jason (Kristie) Haggard of Onamia; 32 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and many friends in our faith community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Sally; son, Mark Whitehead and special pup, Mitzi.
