Funeral services for Bernice Olsen, age 92, of Milaca, will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church in Milaca with Rev. Sheldon Carlson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Bernice C. “Bunnie” Olsen was born October 21, 1924 to Bernard and Ruth (Youngberg) Fagerman in Sauk Rapids, MN. Bunnie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of twelve, while attending Bible camp. Bunnie loved the Lord and looked to Him for guidance and help throughout her life. Bunnie grew up and attended school in Sauk Rapids, graduating in 1942. After graduation, she worked at a drug store, a photography studio and then during the war, she worked as “Rosie the Riveter” alongside her mother. During the summer of 1947, she met the love of her life, Ronald E. Olsen. They were married a year later on September 3, 1948. During their life together as husband and wife, four boys were gifted to them, Michael, Mark, Keith and Kevin, and one miscarriage. Bunnie was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Milaca, where she was involved in the prayer chain circle, women’s WMS, girl’s GMG and the youth group for several years. She was also involved in the Christian Women’s Club in the community of Milaca for decades. Bunnie loved knitting, traveling, shopping, spending her summers at the lake home, reading, gardening and most of all, Operation Christmas Child. She passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Milaca Elim Home. Grateful to be a part of her life, her four boys, Michael of St. Paul, Mark of Brooklyn Park, Keith (Dolores) of Sioux Falls, SD and Kevin (Deanna) of Watertown, SD; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Bunnie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ronald.
