Funeral services for Jane Anderson, age 88, of Milaca, will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 4 PM at Milaca Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will take place Friday, October 28, 2016 at 12 Noon at Eagle Cemetery in Christine, ND. Jane Dora Anderson was born July 4, 1928 to Robert and Mary (Davis) Sharrow in Port Henry, NY. She graduated from high school, then attended Trinity Seminary and Bible Institute in Minneapolis, MN. She was united in marriage to James H. Anderson on June 25, 1949 in NY. They settled in Christine, ND where they farmed and began to raise their family. They moved to Mundelein, IL in 1969, where they both worked and in 1974 moved to Milaca, MN. Jane worked in food service at the elementary school for many years. Over the years she was very involved in church activities, taught Sunday school, played piano, and sang in the choir. As a child of the depression, she could recycle or repurpose almost anything. She had the gift of hospitality, enjoyed serving others and making people feel welcome. She was always in the kitchen cooking and loved to entertain. Jane also had large flower and vegetable gardens. She was involved with the Gideon’s auxiliary in Milaca. Jane was proud to have been born on July 4th, and was very involved in politics in many ways, even serving as an election judge at age 84. She also spent many years researching and tracing her family tree. Jane died on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Milaca Elim Home. She is survived by her children, Marie (Bernie) Rollene of Lake Villa, IL, Dennis (Sue) Anderson of Tulsa, OK, Tim (Kay) Anderson of Cedar Hills, TX and Beth (Kevin) McLouth of Dresser, WI; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; also by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and 3 sisters.
