Christopher (Chris) Bowden passed away suddenly on October 6, 2016 in Golden Valley with his father by his side. He was born on December 11, 1990 in Milaca to John and Lisa (Scherbing) Bowden. He was a 2009 graduate of Milaca High School and he studied architecture at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. While his physical body was weakened by Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy, the strength of his will, his positive attitude, and sense of humor were an inspiration everyone around him. Whenever someone would comment on his positive attitude, he’d just say; “what other choice do I have?” Chris loved being big brother to his little sister, Katelyn, visiting with family and friends, playing video games, watching movies, really cool cars, and watching the Vikings on Sunday with his dad. He will be missed by all everyone who knew and loved him. What other choice do we have? He is survived by his father, John (Laura) Bowden of Milaca; mother, Lisa Bowden (Edward Rimanowicz) of Milaca; sisters, Katelyn Bowden of Milaca and Alicia Baack of Mora; grandparents, Richard and Carol Bowden of Miltona; step-grandparents, David and Diane Selix of Mora; aunts and uncles, Jim (Pam) Bowden of Maple Grove, Ann (Jim) Reed of Baxter, Mark (Sandra) Scherbing of Sauk Rapids, Lori (Bruce) Ogg of Oak Park, Clinton (Vikki) Selix of Brook Park and Darla (Jon) Gospodarek of Mora. Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dwight and Kathleen (Herbrand) Scherbing. A small informal gathering in celebration of Chris’s life will be held on Wednesday October 12th from 1 – 3 pm at Peterson – Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca. Please join us to share memories, laughter and tears. Interment will follow the gathering at Forest Hill Cemetery.
