Travis Alan Kiel was born March 19, 1981 to Stan and Mary (Siemers) Kiel in Milaca, Minnesota. He was baptized at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca. He graduated from Milaca High School in 1999, and attended Saint Cloud State University and Anoka Hennepin Technical College with a degree in Turf Science. He was united in marriage to Erin Elizabeth (Seaton) of Foley on August 19, 2006 at Foley First Presbyterian Church. Travis and Erin resided in Foley when they were married and recently moved to Duelm where they built their forever home in 2014. Travis and Erin have two children, Whitney (7) and Wyatt (4). Travis has been employed at Keller Williams Realty in Otsego since 2012 where he thrived building relationships with his clients and coworkers. Many of his clients have remained long-term friends due to his infectious personality. Everyone who met Travis left with a smile on their face. Travis also officiated varsity football and basketball for the Saint Cloud Official’s Association since 2011. Travis’ hobbies included golfing, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed making memories with his wife and children including trips to Duluth to ride the trains with Wyatt and trips to Disney World with Whitney to see all of the princesses. These are memories that will last a lifetime. Travis was a part of a unique and special group of friends. Many have known each other since early elementary school and have remained extremely close through his entire life. Travis’ entourage was in constant contact daily through their crazy group emails, texts, and phone calls. Travis was blessed to be surrounded by many of them the night before he passed. We are so thankful for that. Travis tragically lost his life on July 31 as the result of a motor vehicle accident. He is survived by his wife, Erin; daughter, Whitney (7), son, Wyatt (4); mother, Mary Kiel (Brian Chesney); father, Stan Kiel (Susie Berger); mother and father-in-law, Jenny and Paul Seaton; brother, Chad (Deena); sister, Christine; brother-in-law, Ryan (Anne) Seaton; sister-in law, Megan (Corey) Kelzenberg; nieces, Olivia and Madilyn Kiel, Hadley Seaton, and Taylor Kelzenberg; nephews, Elliott Kiel and Brody Seaton; grandmother, Joyce Kiel; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
