Carol Jean Braaten

Funeral services for Carol Braaten will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 11 AM at the Milaca Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery near Milaca. Carol Jean Braaten was born May 3, 1950 to Roland and Alice (Granberg) Lindberg at the Princeton Hospital. She attended Riverside Country School through sixth grade and then she attended Milaca High School until she graduated in 1968. After high school, she attended Saint Cloud State University for Art. On February 12, 1971, she married Dean Braaten. After returning with Dean from Panama where he actively served in the military, they resided in Milaca Township. Two daughters were later welcomed. Carol loved life. She enjoyed art, music, horseback riding, gardening, Bible studies, and riding motorcycle with Dean. She loved spending time with her three grandchildren as well. She was also a very active member of the Milaca Evangelical Free Church. She will be missed dearly by family and friends. Carol passed away peacefully at the Milaca Elim Home on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from a short illness. She is survived by her husband, Dean of Milaca; daughters, Shelley (Bryan) Pearson of Milaca and Alyssa (Chris) Eidson of Duluth; three grandchildren, Tyler, Zachery, and Elin Pearson; sister Mary Oleen of Milaca; many other relatives and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, Clarence and Gladys Braaten; brother-in-law, Stuart Oleen; many aunts, uncles, and family members.
