Funeral services for Harold Brink, age 93, of Milaca, will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery near Ronneby. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Military honors will be provided by Hansen-Hayes American Legion Post #178 and Siemers-Hakes VFW Post #10794.
Harold Gradius Brink was born October 24, 1922 in Pease, MN to Gradius and Marie (Roulet) Brink. He attended country school and later Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis and Gun Smithing school in Denver. Harold was united in marriage to Blanche Olsen on March 22, 1944 at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. To this union one son was born, Merle. Harold served his country during World War II as a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He spent time in Holland, Belgium, France and Germany. After completing his service, Harold worked as an auto mechanic, auto body mechanic, taxidermist and gun smith. He started his own gun shop business in the 1960’s and operated it for many years. He loved the outdoors and spent his spare time hunting and fishing. Harold passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud.
He is survived by his son, Merle (Shirley) Brink of Milaca; granddaughter, Lynn (Chuck) Bemis of Prior Lake; great-grandchildren, Matt and Megan; also by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one brother.
