June Helen Carlson

June Helen (Danner) Carlson, age 81 of Milaca, MN passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2015. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 07, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Chaplain Jeff Mattson officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 06, 2015 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services. Interment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery. June Carlson was born on June 12, 1934 to William and Willamina Alvina Marie (Schulte) Danner in Livonia, MN. She attended country school in Crown until the 9th grade at which time she transferred to Princeton, graduating in 1952. After graduation June moved to St Paul where she worked at Montgomery Ward and the Highway Department until moving back to Princeton in 1955. June married the love of her life, Alfred, on July 24, 1960. The couple made their home in Princeton where they were blessed with five children: Julie, Brenda, Lisa, Steve and Amy. While raising her children June also worked in the offices of the Princeton Co-Op and Odegard’s Garage for several years, eventually becoming a full-time homemaker. June’s passion was caring for and spending time with her family and friends. It was no small task to raise a family of five and manage the family farm but she made it look effortless. June was a great cook and loved to entertain. She hosted many family gatherings and card parties at their home over the years. June was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was generous, kind, loving and strong in her faith. June is survived by her children, daughters, Julie (Butch) Brown; Brenda; Lisa (Rob) Garberich; Amy; son, Steve (Tracy) Carlson; grandchildren, Gerrit Garberich, Karlee Brown, Kelsey Garberich, Jake Carlson and Cole Carlson, sister-in-law Joyce Krist, nieces, nephews and special family friend, Tony Pavlin. June was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, parents, William and Willamina Alvina Marie, brothers, Leonard, Harold, Kenneth, Lester, Donald, sisters, Ella, Florence, grandson, Eric and special family friend, Alan VanLith. The family wishes to express their undying gratitude to Al Anderson and Val Paulson for the wonderful care and friendship they provided to June and our family.
