Betty Alice Herman

Funeral services for Betty Herman, age 86, of Milaca, will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11 AM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Rev. Beverly Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Borgholm Cemetery near Bock. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Betty Alice Herman was born February 9, 1929 to Clifford and Mary (Hansen) Mickelson in Springfield, SD. She grew up in Worthing, SD. Betty was united in marriage to Delbert Herman on March 10, 1947 in Canton, SD and they made their home on the family farm near Worthing, SD. They later moved to a farm on the Mille Lacs and Kanabec County line near Bock, MN. Betty worked for 25 years as a cook at the Milaca Elim Home until her retirement in 1994. She passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Heritage House in Milaca. She is survived by children, Daniel of Bock; Katherine and husband Lyle Piepenburg of Foreston, Beth Herman of North Plains, OR, and Deborah Schultz of Pine City; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delbert; grandson, Todd; sister, Evelyn; daughter-in-law, Carol and several aunts and uncles.
