Jane Lance

Memorial service for Jane Lance, age 91, of Milaca, formerly of Onamia, will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 1 PM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Pastor Dale Clifton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will take place at the Onamia Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Binnie Jane Lance was born April 18, 1924 to Roy Sampson and Dora (Jackson) Davis in Volga, SD. At the age of four, Jane moved with her family by covered wagon to Prescott, WI. About a year later, they moved back to South Dakota and lived on Ross’s Ranch. The family later moved to Cove, MN and built a homestead southeast of Onamia. Jane was united in marriage to Herbert Lance on October 20, 1942 in Milaca. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, singing, dancing, playing the guitar and entertaining friends and family. Jane passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at her home in Milaca. She is survived by her children, Larry (Donna) Lance, Joy (Chuck) Fagerberg, Diane (Jim) Van Alst, Sue (Rick) Sullivan, Smokey (Pam) Lance and Jody (Ellen) Lance; grandchildren, Kimberly Lance, Cheston Lance, Curtis Swanson, Shannon Swanson, Yvonne Lindus, Melanie Van Alst, Becky Van Alst, Renay Winchester, Joey Edmunds, Lane Sullivan, Amy Parkin, Wade Lance, Heather Schmitt and Jennifer Longbehr; great-grandchildren, RayeAnne, GeorgeAnne, Anton, Andrew, JoeAnne, Adam, Allen, Amanda, Dillon, Donovin, Alyssa, Jesse, Tabitha, Tanisha, Cody, Lauren, Ben, Willow, Levi, Alexandra, Andrew, and Lily; great-great-grandchildren, Ashtyn, Zoey and Bentley; sister, Nora Probst; also by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert in 1986; siblings, Edith, Laura, Robert, Arden, Sadie and Jean.
