Funeral services for Arlis Hugg, age 72, of Milaca, will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11 AM at Milaca Alliance Church. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be from 2 - 5 PM on Sunday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Arlis Mae Hugg was born on January 26, 1943 near Foley, MN to William “John” and Mabel (Boehm) Snow. Arlis graduated from Milaca High School in 1961 and soon after went to live and work in Minneapolis. Eventually she made her way to Denver, Colorado and met her husband Oddis. On October 10, 1964, she married Oddis A. Hugg at the Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca. In 1969, after three moves, they made their home in Foreston and raised their four children there.
Arlis worked as a cashier at Corner Mart gas station/convenience store. She loved her job, but most of all enjoyed the wonderful people she got to know because of it.
Arlis attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Milaca. She enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening, traveling, baking and canning. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Arlis is survived by her husband, Oddis, daughter, Stephanie (Greg) Halstead of Milaca, sons, Russell (Christine) Hugg of Milaca , Bradley Hugg of Cambridge and Wade Hugg of Ogilvie, 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Ringham, Vanessa Matthews, Allyson Novak, Zachary Halstead, Holly Tabor, Hailey Hugg, Paige Hugg and Cord Hugg and 5 great-grandchildren.
Arlis was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Alice (Klofstad), brothers, Marvin, Kenneth, Ronald “Bud”, Eldred Snow and sister, Joyce Daudt.
