Carol Jean Bernardy

Memorial service for Carol Bernardy, age 76, of Milaca, will be held on Saturday, January 10th at 2 PM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease with Rev. Michael Ten Haken officiating. Lunch will be served following the service at the church. Carol Jean Bernardy was born November 23, 1938 to Alois and Margaret (Delvo) Kislenger in St. Paul, MN. She was united in marriage to Charles Bernardy in 1984 in Phoenix, AZ. They made their home in St. Paul, MN and in 2000 they moved to the Milaca area. Over the years Charles and Carol took in many foster children. Carol loved God, Wheel of Fortune, Skippy peanut butter, cooking, knitting, caring for animals, coffee, giving to others and stories and conversation with loved ones. She passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at her home. She is survived by children, Terilee Rogers of Milaca and Lawrence Ervin of Milaca; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, June Mersch; also by many foster children and grand foster children and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Smith, infant son, Jeffery Ervin and her brother, Jerome Kislenger.
