Kenneth Duane Klinghagen

Funeral services for Kenneth Klinghagen, age 87, of Milaca, will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM on Monday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Kenneth Duane Klinghagen was born February 11, 1927 in Harrisburg, South Dakota to John and Ida (Hoffman) Klinghagen. He grew up in Lincoln County, South Dakota and attended school through the 8th grade. He was united in marriage to Marcella “Sally” Burgers on August 23, 1949. Ken and Sally lived for four years in Lincoln County, South Dakota before moving to a farm north of Milaca, where they raised their children and farmed. Ken enjoyed attending parades, going with his 68’ Chrysler on car trips, fishing, telling stories and jokes. He never missed a family function and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ken passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 in Foley. He will be missed by many. Ken is survived by his children, Lawrence (Paula), Lois (Dave) Larsen, Lyle (Pauletta), Lynn (Mary), Linda (Marvin) Mickelson, Laura (Pat) Guimont, Lorraine Jacobson, Louise (Jeff) Christians and LaVonne Rykhus; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella “Sally” in 1966; his parents, John and Ida; brothers, George, Tebbo and Lester and sisters, Elaine and Ester Mae.
