Milton John Beutz

Funeral service for Milton J. Beutz, age 90, of Morrill, will be held Friday, March 21 at 7 PM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Pastor Wes Macy officiating.  Visitation will be from 5 – 7 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lone Pine Cemetery near Morrill at a later date. Milton John Beutz was born April 29, 1923 in Albany, MN to Anton and Gertrude (Zimmerman) Beutz.  At the age of four, he moved with his family to a farm in the Foley area, where Milton attended country school through the 8th grade.  In his early 20’s, Milton traveled west to the Dakotas and Montana area and was employed in various farming activities.  In December 1955, he purchased his farm in Morrill and lived there the remainder of his life.  He had a small dairy operation and was a life long patron of the Ramey Creamery. Milton will be most remembered for his Brown Swiss Cattle.  Milton thoroughly enjoyed antique farm equipment and one of his most cherished personal possessions was his 1929 Hart-Parr Tractor.  He was a member of the Albany Pioneer Club and never missed the annual pioneer day event.  Milton loved old time polkas and waltzes and in his 50’s he purchased a “Pearl Queen” concertina and learned to play himself.  Milton passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2014 He is survived by his brother, Melvin Beutz of Foley; nephews, Dennis (Joanne) Beutz of Foley, James (Joanne) Beutz of Foreston, Gary Beutz of Milaca, Curt (Lisa) Beutz of Oak Park and Marvin (Melissa) Beutz of Clear Lake; niece, Colleen (Steve) Dehart of Avon.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
