Lowell Grant Mycue

Memorial service for Lowell Mycue, age 96, of Milaca, will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Stephen Blenkush officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials are preferred to the Forest Hill Cemetery beautification fund. Lowell Grant Mycue was born June 28, 1917 near Foreston, MN to Arden and Clara (Schwarz) Mycue. He attended Lincoln School District 23 in Milaca Township through eighth grade. He worked on farms in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Montana. In 1944, he bought a milk route from Egnar Nelson. He was united in marriage to Elaine Sjostrom on June 18, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church and they started raising a family. In 1947, he sold the milk route and they moved to Montana where Lowell worked at a Bozeman milk plant. The couple returned to Milaca, and bought the feed mill in Bock and Lowell worked with his brother, Sid, for five years. Lowell worked for Our Own Hardware for the over-the-road delivery for twenty years. He retired in 1980, and worked as a bailiff in the Seventh District, Mille Lacs County for fourteen years and then retired again. Lowell enjoyed fishing and was an avid deer, elk, and antelope hunter. Lowell passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Milaca Elim Home. He is survived by daughters, Kathy (Don) Henriksen of Bismarck, ND and Marilyn (Gary) Gilman of Willmar; son, Rich (Judy) Mycue of Milaca; grandchildren, Chris (Dawn) Henriksen, Jeremy (Jenny) Henriksen, Joe (Tina) Gilman, Maggie (Felipe) DeFelice, and Clay Mycue; great-grandchildren, Mallory, Drew, Sydney, Logan, Bennet, Esperanza, and Bailey; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elaine in 2001; and nine siblings.
