Dorothy Elizabeth Norman

Funeral services for Dorothy Norman, age 97, of Milaca, will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11 AM at Milaca Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Borgholm Cemetery near Bock. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Dorothy Elizabeth Norman was born August 27, 1916 to Nedville and Florence (Schultz) Nelson near Ogilvie, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at the Lewis Lake Covenant Church. Dorothy was united in marriage to Harold Norman on December 25, 1940 at her parents’ home in Mora. The couple farmed in Kanabec County and then began farming in Borgholm Township. They farmed for 54 years and in November 2000, they moved to Milaca. Dorothy was an active member of the Milaca Evangelical Free Church. In her younger years, she was a part of the home builders group at the church and in later years, served with the ladies aide. Dorothy enjoyed entertaining, gardening and caring for her flowers. She passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the Milaca Elim Home. She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Tom) Weiss of Elk River; son, Charles (Marie) of Milaca; grandsons, Jordan Weiss and Clayton (Sara) Norman and great-granddaughter, Emma Jo and one great-grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 2002; grandson, Joseph and two sisters, Angie and Margaret.
