Terry L. Wirz

Funeral services for Terry Wirz, age 65, of Milaca, will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00-3:00 PM Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services. Private interment will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Terrance Lee Wirz was born in Minneapolis, MN on April 27, 1948 to Donald and Jeanette (Kreger) Wirz. He grew up in Milaca, with his best friend, his brother Skip. Terry was an outstanding athlete at Milaca High School. After graduating from Milaca High School in 1966 he attended one year of college at SCSU. He enlisted in the Army and served in the Vietnam War as an MP. After returning from duty, he began working for his dad as an electrician. Terry married Linda Wieland in August of 1982 and they had two children. Terry was an amazing father and his love for his children had no bounds. Terry would do anything for the people he loved. He was also a very hard worker, until his health forced him to retire at an early age. He was a member and past commander of the Hansen-Hayes American Legion Post #178 and a member of the Siemers-Hakes VFW Post #10794. passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in Milaca MN. He is survived by his wife, Linda Wirz; children, Joel Wirz and Margie Wirz; step-sons, James Leeder and Guy Leeder; as well as many beloved extended family members. Terry will be remembered and missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
