Glennys Mae Wilke

Funeral service for Glennys Wilke, age 78, of Milaca, will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 2 PM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will take place at Borgholm Cemetery near Bock in the spring. Glennys Mae Wilke was born May 11, 1934 to Olaf and Irene (Sandeen) Olson in Milaca, MN. At a young age she moved with her family to Minneapolis, and she grew up and attended school there. She was united in marriage to Clyde Wilke on May 24, 1958 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milaca. The couple made their home in north Minneapolis until 1968, when they moved to Milaca, MN. In 1978, they built a home four miles southeast of Milaca. Clyde passed away in 1995 and in 1996, Glennys moved to Mobile Manor. She enjoyed attending music jams, doing crossword puzzles and watching QVC. Glennys’s biggest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a caring and nurturing mother who taught her children good values and morals. She died on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Milaca Elim Home. She is survived by her children, Julia Sanford, Keven (Adelle), Lila (Terry) Swanson, Randal (friend Robin Larsen) and Darren (significant other Pam Rittenour); twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlene (Kenny) Rosales, Sandra (Mike) Rotz and Judy Baas; brother, Mike (Donna) Olson; brother-in-law, Dave Poorker; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde in 1995; granddaughter, Anna Mae; sister, Nancy Poorker; sister and brother-in-law, Dorene and Paschel Markfort and brother-in-law, Duane Baas.
