Rodney Obed Nelson

Memorial services for Rodney Obed Nelson, age 95, of Onamia, will be held Monday, July 01, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Onamia Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Boeringa officiating. Interment will be held in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Rodney Obed Nelson was born September 05, 1917 in Milaca, Minnesota to Obed and Emma (Dahlstrom). He was united in marriage to Joyce Dahl on December 08, 1945. He was a Staff Sgt. in the Army Air Force, 25th Fighter Squadron. He worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and Stewart Lumber Company. He passed away January 16, 2013 at the Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Rodney is survived by his daughter, Kathy (John) Salaski of Minnetonka and son, Doug Nelson of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Ben Salaski, Jack Salaski, and Owen Neslon; great grandchildren, Dylan Salaski and Camille Salaski; brother, Duane “Buzz” Nelson of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce; son, David; brothers, Robert, Burt, Harley; sisters, Bernice Coffman, and Joyce Neitzel.
