Ann Marie "Suzie" Striker

July 2, 1944 — February 24, 2012

Funeral services for Ann Marie “Suzie” Striker, age 67, of Foley, will be held Thursday, March 01, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church near Princeton with Rev. Barb Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Providing music for the service will be Jean Jackson and Austin Karas. Ann Marie “Suzie” Striker was born July 02, 1944 to Erwin and Mary (Kalander) Nikolai in Two Harbors, Minnesota. She grew up in Finland, MN and graduated from William Kelly High School in Silver Bay in 1962. She worked as secretary at Campton Elementary School in Silver Bay and Rosemount Engineering, and as a waitress at the 5-8 Club in Minneapolis and Hiway Cafe in Milaca. While growing up in Finland, she was active in 4-H and was a Sunday school teacher at Zion Lutheran Church in Finland. While in Minneapolis, she attended Hope Lutheran Church. She was also a Sunday school superintendent at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Oak Park. She was an avid pianist, cribbage player, daycare provider, teacher, and mentor to all. Suzie died Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Saint Cloud Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Larry; son, Douglas (Vanessa Rakow) of Saint Cloud, daughter, DeAnn (Josh Philippi) of Sauk Rapids; daughter, Kristi Striker of Minneapolis; grandson, Jakob Jordan; brother, Robert (Linda) Nikolai; sister, Verna (Jim) Sinderman of Finland; many nieces, nephews, and all of her other “children”. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca, MN. 320.983.3488
